glossier. essentials. // cyber. monday. edition.

In case you somehow haven’t already heard that Glossier’s offering 20% off + free shipping on every order (or managed to overlook it due to a flooding inbox of Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales), it’s true. Glossier’s not kidding when they say it’s the Biggest. Sale. Of. The. Year. I’ve curated a list of products below you should definitely either snag for yourself or for a friend. Oh, and the sale ends Monday (11/28), so don’t delay!!

1. Glossier Black Tie Set ($50): I may or may not have asked for Glossier’s limited edition Black Tie Set for Christmas. (Let it be known: If you happen to have a $10 store credit on file, you can combine that with the 20% off coupon for a steal.) The set consists of a Glossier pink nail polish (#obsessed), a black eyeliner, a Haloscope highlighter and a clear lip gloss. AND it comes all boxed and wrapped in a bow, which makes it the perfect gift for your BFF, sister — you name it.

2. Glossier Sweatshirt ($60): Um, hello. What better way to show off your love for Glossier at the gym or when Netflixing and chilling? *Adds to cart without hesitation for an athleisure look.*

3. Glossier Boy Brow ($16): So. Much. YAS. I just ordered boy brow and can’t wait to try it. ‘Cause who doesn’t want picture-perfect brows?

4. Glossier Perfecting Skin Tint ($26): I haven’t tried the perfecting skin tint yet, but would love to in the near future. True to Glossier’s mission — “more skin, less makeup” — this skin-perfecting formula (available in a spectrum of shades) would be the perfect alternative to cakey foundations that don’t allow your skin to breathe.

5. Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser ($18): If I wasn’t already fully stocked in First Aid Beauty’s Face Cleanser, then I would jump at the chance to try out Glossier’s milk jelly cleanser. Starting and ending the day with a blank slate is crucial for healthy, blemish-free skin anyway, so this one’s really a no-brainer.

6. Glossier Priming Moisturizer ($25): You can’t go wrong with a priming moisturizer, amirite? You’ll use it on a daily basis and it’ll essentially serve as a “glowing canvas” for all your other Glossier products. Plus, it’s lightweight enough to allow your skin to b-r-e-a-t-h-e.

7. Glossier Flavored Balm Dotcom ($12): I’ve blogged about my love for Glossier’s mint balm dotcom in the past, but just to reiterate, this stuff works. It’s incredibly moisturizing and smells equally ah-mazing. With 20% off, now’s the perfect time to invest in a tube (or three). Currently available in rose, cherry, coconut and of course my personal fave, mint.

pockets? yes, please.

I hope everyone had a wonderful and restorative Thanksgiving! My family and I kept things very low-key (just the way I like it), and I’m currently gearing up for Small Business Saturday.

As I foreshadowed in my previous #OOTD post, the tights have finally come out. With temps officially in the 40s and 50s, it’s simply too chilly to walk around with bare legs! That said, I do like how my noir tights look teamed with this lovely floral print dress by For Love & Lemons (from a collaboration they did with Urban Outfitters last year). Just FYI: If you’re new to For Love & Lemons, they’re an LA-based brand known for super pretty embroidered and lace pieces with boho appeal.

When I’m not layering sweaters with button-downs, one of my go-to outfit combos is to style a long-sleeved dress with an oversized cardigan (this gray one from Madewell has been on repeat lately). Bonus points, ‘cause it even has pockets! Throw in my beloved Chelsea boots (Gap, last fall), a classic Kate Spade bag and I’m all set for a day spent shopping on the downtown mall. While this look definitely has an autumnal vibe to it, I think it’ll work just as well for winter — give or take, a heavy wool topper and riding boots.

If you’re looking to get in your For Love & Lemons fix, I’ve rounded up a few of my fave picks below:

f/w '16. nail. colors.

When the weather turns frightful, there’s nothing like a little pop of color via your nails to inject major oomph into your fall/winter wardrobe. Throw in the upcoming holidays and a dazzling mani is practically non-negotiable. If you’ve already got a case of the winter blues (I know it’s not winter yet, but my scratchy throat and runny nose seem to be saying otherwise!), then some freshly manicured tips could be just what the doctor ordered. Ahead, I’ve compiled a roundup of my favorite nail colors of the moment.
1. Burberry Beauty Gold Shimmer No.452 // The perfect holiday shimmer that also doubles for a signature accent nail. To be worn solo or teamed with any of the other colors included in this post.
2. JINsoon Nail Polish in Ube // A pretty lavender hue to complement all your cream-colored fisherman sweaters, Breton stripes and cherry red toppers. Obsessed would be an understatement.
3. Deborah Lippmann Gel Lab Pro Nail Polish in Smoke Gets in Your Eyes // In lieu of stark black, I swear by a deep blue that’s equal parts minimalist and understated chic. Plus, this storm-blue hue will pair exquisitely with all the neutrals in your winter wardrobe.
4. Lauren B. Beauty Nail Polish in Laurel Canyon Lover // Not a fan of classic Revlon red? Try this rich burgundy hue for the holiday season (and beyond). Come Valentine’s Day, a glittery accent nail will be obligatory.
5. Essie Nail Polish in Satin Sister // My pick from Essie’s winter collection? That would be “satin sister,” which Essie has described as a “sleek ebony peacock blue.” Take note: This after hours-approved jewel tone was made to be worn for winter formals/galas/soirees, especially when accompanied by a sequined gown or a velvet fit-and-flare dress. But, don’t be mistaken, it’s a shoo-in for the daytime too.
6. Yves Saint Laurent Beauty La Laque Nail Polish in Jaune Babouche 62 // Perhaps more autumnal than wintry, there’s no time like RN to test-drive this sunny goldenrod color. It calls to mind plaid blanket scarves, suede ankle booties and pumpkin spice-everything — basically ALL the fall things.

fall. uniform.

As much as I live for the summer months, I have to admit the arrival of fall often brings out my inner style chameleon. I seek solace in all the cozy layers, textures and slouchy knits that inspire me to adopt a more laid-back ‘tude. Though the temps have been relatively moderate so far, I know it’ll only be a matter of time before the tights and heavy toppers make an appearance. (Although, you best believe that I’ll be holding out on the tights part until absolutely necessary.)

Today, I’m sharing my favorite #OOTD from the season to date — in fact, I’d go as far as to call it my unofficial fall uniform. If I had to live in one outfit this entire season, then it would undoubtedly consist of a chunky knit sweater, a mini skirt and Chelsea boots. REPEAT. I love how effortless and dialed down this combo is — there’s nothing overly fussy or “trying too hard” about it. It’s as streamlined as you can get, yet still totally polished. In a few short weeks, I could easily see black tights thrown into the mix.

Pretending like I'm a stoop kid...

Outfit details: The light blue knit sweater I’m wearing is one of my absolute favorites. It’s by Cheap Monday, and the fit is oh-so impeccable. It’s a little bit slouchy, a smidge oversized and 100% off-duty. I love pairing it with high-waisted skinny jeans equally as much as a skater skirt. Speaking of which, while this teal floral print skirt from Aritzia is more of a summer staple, it instantly takes on a fall-ish vibe when teamed with a sweater and ankle boots. Last but not least, I snagged my pointed toe Chelsea boots on a whim from Gap last fall (you can check out this year’s version here), and they’ve already been in heavy rotation this season. I literally can’t put 'em down. If anything, they're proof that I need to invest in more Chelsea boots (and actually a pair of Doc Martens while I’m at it).
