january. outfits.

So glad that I was able to snag this J.Crew fair isle crewneck sweater on sale!
Sure enough, winter did indeed decide to show up. It was about time! While I could do without the frigid temps and snow (hello, Winter Storm Jonas!), I have admittedly enjoyed cozying up to fair isle sweaters + heavy knits these past few weeks. After wearing ballet flats for so long, I almost forgot about my trusty J.Crew field boots. Let's just say that they'll definitely be in heavy rotation for the duration of winter and early spring. With today marking the last day of January (I can't even...), I thought that I would share some of my favorite #ootds from this past month. Highlights for me include a punchy green topper, some fun layering + pattern mixing and an early Valentine's Day-inspired look.

No surprise: My Industry Standard Simone Midrise jeans continue to be on repeat. Here, I paired them with my favorite field boots and a ruffled hem sweatshirt. My tassel necklace ended up being the perfect finishing touch.
Layering + pattern mixing done right. During the winter months, I can always rely on a classic chambray shirt to pull me out of a style rut.
Once again, jeans + field boots. But this time, I threw a bold green topper and quirky statement necklace into the mix. Another thing I love: Sightly oversized and slouchy knits such as this pale blue stunner by Cheap Monday.
Getting my Valentine's Day on a bit early... How fun are these hot pink cropped skinnies from J.Crew?! They're my fave.
A plaid shirt dress (on sale!) + Chelsea ankle boots just may be my new favorite combination.

indian. fall.

I don't know about you, but I have been l-o-v-i-n-g the unseasonably warm fall temps that we've been having lately. It's safe to say that I can't believe that it's November — just this week, I was wearing a mini skirt paired with a three-quarter sleeve t-shirt (sans tights)! While I wish that the 70-degree temperatures would stick around (who needs winter anyway?!), I am happy to say that I haven't had to break out the heavy coats, cold weather accessories and tights just yet. Below, I've rounded up some of my favorite #OOTDs from the past month or so that exhibit "indian fall" dressing, as I like to call it. Also: I am totally aware that I wear my field jacket entirely too much, but to my defense, I just can't get enough of how versatile + practical it is.

Into the woods...

Bright red chino shorts + my favorite Lacoste polo (similar) for the win!

Green + white stripes have been my jam lately. Photographed here are my go-to Industry Standard jeans in the Simone Midrise fit.

Field jacket on the daily. (For a similar look, check out this J.Crew Factory field jacket and Foley + Corinna tote.)

Mad for plaid. Get the look with this plaid button-down that has the cutest elbow patches.

holiday. outfits.

So, it’s officially December!  Yay!  To be honest, I’m not sure where Thanksgiving Break went...it just flew on by and here we are.

Personally, this is my favorite time of the year.  I’m a big fan of the holidays I live for all things ho-ho-ho.  From the wrapping of presents to the shopping (duh!) to the festive decorations, I just love it all.  The worst part is when it’s all over…let’s not even go there.

With the holiday season fast-approaching (actually, it’s already here!), I thought I would share a few of my most seasonal outfits from last weekend.

Christmas is so much more than the typical red and green that it so often gets associated with. Fair Isle sweaters, pretty black patent ballet flats, bow headbands (heck, bow-everything!), wool skirts and sequins galore are just a few of the things that come to mind when I think of the holidays.

black. friday.

While some people bundle up in their warmest (and often frumpiest attire) for Black Friday, I did quite the opposite.  Take note, however, that I didn’t have to stand in any annoying lines waiting to get inside anywhere.  Nope,  I went outlet shopping with the fam in the wee hours of the night (or should I say morning?!).  It was super cold, but I simply cannot bring myself to not dress cute when I know that I’m going to be popping into stores like Kate Spade.

My outfit consisted of my favorite J.Crew black-and-white striped shirt, a red corduroy skirt and boutique necklace.  Oh, and I can’t forget my black sweater tights and coat which kept me warm and cozy!  Don’t be surprised if you see this exact same ensemble showing up on my Instagram feed in the coming weeks.

small. business. saturday.

Nothing starts the holiday season off right like a preppy tartan print (take note, I live for J.Crew’s city mini paper-bag skirts!).  Even better when you have a glittery skinny belt to add some dazzle.  Classic black ballet flats = standard.

sunday. funday.

For outfit-number-three, though a tad cliche, I kept it casual in green denim by Blank.  To my defense, however, it was December 1st.  To achieve that effortless look that I so often strive for, I threw on a chambray shirt (yes, I finally got one - more on that in a future post!) and slipped into my sequined, peep-toe bow flats by Kate Spade. #bowsonthetoes

What’s your go-to attire for the holidays?
