craving. shorts.

While the temps are still relatively cool (typical spring weather as I like to call it), we've had a handful of sunny days that were practically made for quad-chilling + primetime people watching. Although I haven't broken out the chino shorts yet — heck, it's not that warm — shorts have definitely been on my mind.  So much so, that I've realized that I have yet to own an all-around, versatile pair of denim cutoffs. Trust me, every year I'm always on the lookout... somehow I either just never find a pair within my price limit or I wait for them to go on sale and then my size is sold out. Whoops.

With all that being said, any recommendations for brands of tried-and-true denim cutoffs or cuffed shorts that you swear by? Check out a few of the picks that I rounded up below.

The ideal way to wear shorts in the spring... with a playful, striped cashmere sweater.

I'm not sure how I feel about the paint splatter effect on these shorts, but I do love the fit.  Just as Madewell describes it, "not too tight, not too baggy."  As for the Mini Lafayette Bucket Bag, it's perf for the girl on the go.

By now, you've probably seen this floral J.Crew sweater all over Instagram and fashion blogs alike (Sarah Vickers of Classy Girls Wear Pearls pulled it off flawlessly!).  Well, I still love it anyway.  Not to mention that those shorts are pretty great too... aren't they just begging to be paired with a field jacket and gingham popover?

I'm totally digging/lusting over these white denim shorts w/ frayed edges.  For a more effortless fit, I would definitely size up as recommended.  Along with springtime shorts, I can't help but think that I should begin my search for sandals STAT.  Speaking of which, how pretty are these leather ones by Penelope Chilvers? #swooning
