breakfast. with. bevan.

Originally, I was only going to spotlight Bee Schaffer’s (aka Anna Wintour’s daughter) latest appearance on Breakfast with Bevan, but then I got so caught up in the series...and here we are now!  For starters, if you haven’t checked out Breakfast with Bevan yet, then you’re seriously missing out.  The series, which you’ve probably already guessed from its title, is hosted by Teen Vogue style features director Andrew Bevan.  In each episode, Andrew meets up with his fave celebrity friends for breakfast (AnnaSophia Robb and Alexa Chung...love them!) and they chat in a low-key setting about anything and everything.  Besides the fact that Andrew is one of the most quirky, funny and all-around likeable people around, I’m also a major fan of Teen Vogue (and always will be!).

Getting back to my initial inspiration for this post, I just had to embed the video of Andrew’s recent sit-down with Bee Shaffer.  In the episode, Andrew and Bee are like old-time pals just catching up.  Of course, one of the things they talk about is what it’s like being Anna Wintour’s daughter.  (Wouldn’t we all like to know…?!)  I won’t give too much away, but I thought it was just fitting how both Bee and her mom share a fondness for going to bed early and waking up early.  (Anna goes to bed around 10 and wakes up at 5, Bee goes to bed at 11 and wakes up at 6.)  In the video, Bee says something along the lines of how she thinks that people who wake up early have the privilege of feeling more superior and generally feeling like a better person because of it.  While Bee may have opted out of the whole fashion lifestyle, there’s no question that she inherited her busy nature and appreciation for promptness (she doesn’t understand people who are late) from her mom.  And, if you ask me, that’s not a bad thing at all!

Basically, I now want to be BFFs with Andrew Bevan so that I can join him for his next breakfast date...can that be arranged?!

vogue. in. motion.

Every now and then, I stumble across a video that I absolutely adore and must share. Vogue magazine recently debuted their new video series titled "Vogue in Motion."  The first season serves as a mini documentary of sorts as it provides us (fashion-obsessed viewers alike) with a behind-the-scenes look "at how a Vogue editorial fashion shoot is done from pitch to publish."  Consisting of just three episodes, each less than five minutes in length, it's safe to say that I watched the entire thing in one sitting (to be fair, I'm actually re-watching it as we speak!).  Not to be cliche, but it was SO good – no second went unappreciated.  In classic Vogue fashion, each episode is carefully curated and ever-sophisticated.  I don't want to give away too much, but in the first episode, fashion editor Tabitha Simmons (she's so lovely!) provides us with a little taste of what it's like pitching the concept ("Flower Power") and looks for a fashion editorial that will ultimately appear in the March issue.  And, of course, no Vogue video series would be complete without Anna Wintour herself...in case you were wondering, she does indeed make an appearance.

Basically, if you're a fan of The September Issue, then #VogueinMotion is right up your alley.  I was going to only embed the 46 second trailer, but that seemed like such a tease.  Below is Episode 1:  Pushing the Concept for Petal Pushers, enjoy!

What did you think?  It knocked your socks off, right?!
