glossier. essentials. // cyber. monday. edition.

In case you somehow haven’t already heard that Glossier’s offering 20% off + free shipping on every order (or managed to overlook it due to a flooding inbox of Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales), it’s true. Glossier’s not kidding when they say it’s the Biggest. Sale. Of. The. Year. I’ve curated a list of products below you should definitely either snag for yourself or for a friend. Oh, and the sale ends Monday (11/28), so don’t delay!!

1. Glossier Black Tie Set ($50): I may or may not have asked for Glossier’s limited edition Black Tie Set for Christmas. (Let it be known: If you happen to have a $10 store credit on file, you can combine that with the 20% off coupon for a steal.) The set consists of a Glossier pink nail polish (#obsessed), a black eyeliner, a Haloscope highlighter and a clear lip gloss. AND it comes all boxed and wrapped in a bow, which makes it the perfect gift for your BFF, sister — you name it.

2. Glossier Sweatshirt ($60): Um, hello. What better way to show off your love for Glossier at the gym or when Netflixing and chilling? *Adds to cart without hesitation for an athleisure look.*

3. Glossier Boy Brow ($16): So. Much. YAS. I just ordered boy brow and can’t wait to try it. ‘Cause who doesn’t want picture-perfect brows?

4. Glossier Perfecting Skin Tint ($26): I haven’t tried the perfecting skin tint yet, but would love to in the near future. True to Glossier’s mission — “more skin, less makeup” — this skin-perfecting formula (available in a spectrum of shades) would be the perfect alternative to cakey foundations that don’t allow your skin to breathe.

5. Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser ($18): If I wasn’t already fully stocked in First Aid Beauty’s Face Cleanser, then I would jump at the chance to try out Glossier’s milk jelly cleanser. Starting and ending the day with a blank slate is crucial for healthy, blemish-free skin anyway, so this one’s really a no-brainer.

6. Glossier Priming Moisturizer ($25): You can’t go wrong with a priming moisturizer, amirite? You’ll use it on a daily basis and it’ll essentially serve as a “glowing canvas” for all your other Glossier products. Plus, it’s lightweight enough to allow your skin to b-r-e-a-t-h-e.

7. Glossier Flavored Balm Dotcom ($12): I’ve blogged about my love for Glossier’s mint balm dotcom in the past, but just to reiterate, this stuff works. It’s incredibly moisturizing and smells equally ah-mazing. With 20% off, now’s the perfect time to invest in a tube (or three). Currently available in rose, cherry, coconut and of course my personal fave, mint.

glossier's. balm. dotcom.

Today I’m talking all about Glossier, aka the latest cool girl-approved beauty brand to hit the market. If you’re new to Glossier, here’s the quick 411: It was founded by Emily Weiss (remember the “super intern” from The Hills?) in October 2014, and the rest is pretty much history. Created as an offshoot of the beauty website Into the Gloss, Glossier is a “beauty movement that celebrates real girls, in real life.” What differentiates the brand from countless others is their devotion to skincare. With a line of everyday essentials (think: everything from a milky jelly cleanser to a trusty priming moisturizer), Glossier starts with skincare first, so you can rock a natural dewy look or create an awesome foundation for the makeup that you do wear.

While I haven’t tried any of Glossier’s skincare products yet, I recently purchased the mint balm dotcom and it’s safe to say I’m already obsessed. I may or may not have been influenced by the streamlined packaging (Glossier’s minimalist design is so on-point!) and the fact that they teamed up with Morgenstern’s ice cream in NYC for a special promotion during the month of May. Glossier flavored ice cream and lip balm? Sign me up, please.

As someone who doesn’t wear lipstick — like never — you could say that I take my lip balm pretty seriously. That said, Glossier’s mint balm dotcom exceeded my expectations. Not only does it smell ah-mazing (minty fresh, of course!), but it’s incredibly moisturizing without being super sticky. And it soothes your lips for the perfect morning wake-up call. When I run out, I’ll definitely be stocking up on another tube (or three) as it’s currently also available in rose and cherry.

If you decide to order from Glossier, be sure to check out this $5 off coupon on RetailMeNot. I used it on the mint balm dotcom a few weeks ago and it worked. Just FYI: Shipping is free if you spend over $30!

beauty. buys.

I thought it would be fun to take a break from my regularly scheduled fashion posts to share a few of my favorite beauty products of the moment. But first, let me make a confession. As much as I love testing out new mascaras and investing in more nail polish (‘cause every shade of pink under the sun is obviously obligatory), I would never consider myself a beauty connoisseur. (The closest I ever get to wearing lipstick is a tinted lip balm… and that’s on a good day.) Nonetheless, I always enjoy reading beauty roundups from both beauty and non-beauty bloggers alike — it’s a great way to discover and test out new products without feeling pressured to purchase expensive products at the beauty counter. Check out what I’m currently loving/using/trying out for the first time below, and let me know if you would like to see more posts like this in the future!

Makeup Tools Eyelash Curler (Muji) // Because I love all things Muji (the notebooks! the pens!), I was eager to try this eyelash curler out. I haven’t used it much yet, but so far so good. Since I wasn’t blessed with naturally long lashes, I can definitely use all the help that I can get. Not only is the price point right, but it definitely gets the job done (especially if you heat it with a blow-dryer prior to using it).

Mario Badescu Ceramide Herbal Eye Cream (Nordstrom) // This eye cream by Mario Badescu is what I would consider to be a holy grail beauty product. It’s that good. I apply it before bed every night and it leaves my under eye area feeling moisturized and rejuvenated. While it won’t work miracles overnight, or erase fine lines per se, it does seem to make them less visible. (Long story short: I noticed a few super super minimal fine lines under my eyes — freaked out — and decided that I needed to invest in a good eye cream. Why, oh why, didn’t I start using this sooner?!) Once it runs out, I will 100% be buying it again. It has a fresh scent and can be applied twice a day — although I only apply it at night as it seems to be a little too shiny/sticky for the daytime, especially if you were to layer makeup over it.

First Aid Beauty Face Cleanser (Sephora) // While it can be fun to play around with different makeup looks, or to pile on the mascara, removing it at the end of the day is not-so-fun. When used alongside an eye makeup remover, I find this fragrance-free face cleanser from First Aid Beauty to be highly effective. Unlike a regular face cleanser, this one is made to remove makeup, dirt and grime. After using it at the end of the day, my face always feels fresh and clean — almost as though I’m starting with a blank slate! If you have sensitive, dry or highly irritable skin, then I would definitely recommend this product (check out the reviews on Sephora if you have any doubts!).

Arquiste for J.Crew Perfume Rollerball (no longer available) // I may or may not have been tempted by the pretty packaging (and the sale price too!), but I couldn’t resist snagging these perfume rollerballs from J.Crew during some post-holiday sales. The idea of having a rollerball perfume to tote around in my bag sounded so alluring, although I have yet to actually do so! No. 31 is flowery, soft and understated while No. 57 evokes a more outdoorsy aroma with subtle hints of cinnamon.
